Some of us may remember Bill Murray as the cynical yet lovable weatherman who ends up reliving the same day in the small town of Punxsutawney. Because of that movie the words Groundhog Day have become synonymous with reliving the same thing over and over again, and while Bill Murray’s antics have earned said film a place in our hearts, let’s not forget the true meaning of this holiday. On February 2nd the groundhog emerges from hibernation in its burrow, and whether or not the groundhog decides to return to its cozy home is believed to signify the beginning of spring or the drowsy continuation of winter. Yes, that was a long intro, and you may feel like you’ve been reliving the same sentence again and again, but like the nature of Groundhog Day, this tasting is all about emerging from the grey of winter into the fresh light of spring: breaking out of comfort zones, trying new things, emerging from the drudgery with fresh faces and open minds! This tasting is about gathering bottles that haven’t seen the light this winter as we celebrate the possibility of adventure and try some fresh-faced new wines! - $15
