Because of that movie the words Groundhog Day have become synonymous with reliving the same thing over and over again, and while Bill Murray’s antics have earned said film a place in our hearts, let’s not forget the true meaning of this holiday. On February 2nd the groundhog emerges from hibernation in its burrow, and whether or not the groundhog decides to return to its cozy home is believed to signify the beginning of spring or the drowsy continuation of winter.
